going big, bigger, smaller, bigger. With setup averaging 30 ft right now, probably the smallest it’s been all season.

After watching multiple people hit this what seemed to be massive jump – I decided I have to hit it. It’s spring, the snow is soft – I really have nothing to lose. So, I watched a few friends, called my drop, and BAM! Threw the fattest fucking shifty of my life. SO stoked. This was all yesterday and all day today I hit it no prob – even got a somewhat decent shot.

For 2010 SNOWBOARDER has adopted an “Animal House” theme for Superpark dubbing it Animal Park. According to SNOWBOARDER’s editor Pat Bridges “The poster for ‘Animal House’ says it all ‘It was the Deltas against the rules… the rules lost.’ Snowboarding was founded by a bunch of dudes who went against the rules and, well you know the rest. Similarly, SNOWBOARDER started Superpark to create a venue where we didn’t need to follow any rules.” Expect 150 of the world’s best park riders to send it for four days straight as they pledge Tri Landa Air.

THANK GOD visitors freak out and leave town when the word of ” ten feet of snow” gets ’round – That way there’s NO snowboard lessons and I get to go ride freshies ALL day.

THE MOST EPIC POW I HAVE EVER RIDDEN. Seriously, Nikki, Jamie, Ryan, RJ,  and I rode chair 25 and rode out and under chair 9. If you’ve ever rode Mammoth then you know that these are prime sweet spots. We were gettin waist deep in the trees – day couldn’t have been better.

It’s 3am and I just drove 2 friends home and It’s PUKING snow out and has been all day. This storm is supposed to last the next 3 days. this couldnt be better timing considering my 6 week hiatus from riding is up on Sunday. FRESHIES HERE I COME.

I still don’t have full mobility in my ankle back but I’m off the crutches and I can sort of run. I know with time and PT it’ll be back to normal in no time.

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be considered conditioning days seeing at i have 2 days of orientation on Wed and Thurs. Thursday being the riding portion. The following weekend I’ll start work. I’m excited but scared at the same time. I’m still pretty worried about my ankle but we’ll see.

Got a copy of HOT LAPS,Mammoths first video, and I’m in the process of watching it for the 2nd time…today. I missed the premier in the village last Saturday due to being stuck at the IAM SNOWBOARDING art show, so I’m making up for a lack of on time reviews…hopefully.

All the editing was really cool and went along with the Mammoth Ads we all see in the snow mags and seeing my friends names throughout the intro is always cool. Watching your friends on TV in something other than your own bluebird edits is something you can really only feel for yourself. it’s like, wow we CAN actually go somewhere with our riding. We always think we can and look up to our favorite riders in the videos and the magazines, but to actually SEE your friends and for some friends, yourself, in a professionally made video presented by the mountain you love…It’s something awesome. The video really gives the viewer a great perspective of what Mammoth has to offer. Everybody knows Mammoth has epic parks but a lot of people have no idea what treasures it holds…and hides. the natural terrain all over the mountain makes it so, no matter your style or the weather, you will always find YOUR line. I thought some of the rider parts were somewhat short(the whole video is only 34min long) knowing how much and how often they film, but each part I felt showcased what they had to offer.

If you know someone who has a copy or can get a copy – get on it. The video is one that you can just sit and watch all day. for me at least.

This morning, before I peeked out my window, I went into my calendar on my phone, marked out six weeks and I should be ready to rock and roll by Dec. 16th if the snow gods (and my doctors) see fit.

It’s not all horribly bad…it’s just that the whole point of me moving up here this early was so I could get a whole month of riding in before I started working…oh well.

On tonight’s agenda….I’m waiting for the girls to get back from Reno and then we shall figure out where and if I will be going out. Due to opening day there’s a Von Zipper party at Whiskey Creek, Matix party at Laka Nuki and a premier of “In Deep” up at the Yodeler.
Many choices but I have to be selective since I have the crutches…the only reason I really have in going is to blog about it here for you all. Otherwise, I really don’t feel like dealing with crutches in the snow and sitting in a booth explaining why I’m not out on the dance floor shakin’ my ass like I usually am.
I guess we will all see tomorrow.

So, since my internet sucks at my house at this post still hasn’t gone up – I’ll just updat you now…double feature if you will.

More friends arrive and then left to the bars. The girls came home. Brooke went to bed and Daryl went out. Having already passed out for an hour and a half, I wasnt really feelin up to the challenge that is now my life. I figure the better parties are tomorrow (today) and Saturday anyways…so I might as well save all my energy for them.

Expect more posts, like legit posts, then.

The mountain opened yesterday, Saturday, and from what I’ve heard, I’m not missing out on much, which makes me feel a little better. This just gives my plenty of time to do other stuff…things of which i cant think of at the moment.

BUT – i do have a California King size bed that my roommate, Daryl, is letting me use. The thing is huge its awesome. first time I’ve had a bed of my own in over 6 months…no more futons for me for a long while.

But, back to my ankle. The swelling has gone down  A LOT which is awesome and in a week or so I can start doing PT.

I’m feeling good about the recovery and feeling like I’m gonna bounce back from this just as well as i bounced back from my ACL surgery on my right knee.
